Born and raised in Collinsville, Illinois, Kent graduated from Collinsville High School in 1972 before continuing his education at Murray State University, where he earned his degree in 1976. Shortly after college, he began a successful career as a livestock buyer, a role he held for over two decades, from 1976 to 1998.

In 1994, he expanded his professional pursuits into the restaurant industry, most notably with Buffalo Wild Wings, where he remains actively involved today. Over the past 30 years, Kent has helped shape the company into what it is today, growing his personal ownership interests to include 120 locations and approximately 8,000 employees. Following a major private equity merger, Kent remained onboard, continuing to play a key role in growing and shaping the restaurant group into one of the nation’s most recognized and profitable brands.

His dedication, work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit have been central to his long-standing success in business.

Beyond his professional life, Kent is a proud parent of two children and a devoted grandparent to five grandchildren, who bring him immense joy and fulfillment.
